This is why I get pissed off when anyone accuses me of being an elitist when I say young people should go to college if they can. I say that because my dad was a local lineman and contractor who did heavy physical labor for years and has had chronic back pain since his early 30s

I was raised by a nurse with an associates degree and a steel mill electrician. I am not denigrating the value and dignity of blue collar work when I ask how many elite national media staffers are raising future bricklayers themselves.

Renee Good's family filed two lawsuits today. The first, against, USG, is a standard wrongful death. The second is a Klan Act lawsuit against Jonathan Ross, AND STEPHEN MILLER and Greg Bovino. It names Nick Shirley and Christopher Rufo as non-party co-conspirators for their racist propaganda.
44. At all relevant times, Defendants Ross, Miller, Noem, Lyons, Homan, Bovino, and the John Doe Federal Agents acted under color of federal law and within the scope of a joint enterprise with the private actors described below. Defendant Lewandowski acted in part under color of federal law and in part, as alleged below, as a private person, his federal status having been limited to a temporary part-time designation that his conduct exceeded. Shirley, Rufo, and Ben Bergquam, and the other non-party private actors described below, agreed to and in fact participated in the conspiracy alleged here: each acted in concert with, and with the knowledge and encouragement of, federal officials.

The Times - which has v much joined in the rightwing clamour to reduce immigration - now reporting that Mahmood’s “success” has cost the economy £4- to £7Bn.
Would they like to now honestly confirm that fewer people = less spending power for all.
There’s a high price to pay for this nasty obsession.

Government insiders believe that John Healey, who already faced an uphill battle to balance the books next month, is likely to have an even bigger challenge after immigration undershot projections from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR). The Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank estimated last month that the success of Shabana Mahmood's reforms, which have cut net migration to the low hundreds of thousands, could cost Healey some £4bn.
