Hello new followers! I'm Adam, a composer and orchestrator particularly interested in writing for 4X and grand strategy games, but open to other genres. I mainly try to post updates on my music, along with quirky musings and wry observations.
Writing an eerie piece this week where I've decided to use those bits of the sample library that we usually EQ out. So like just the room rumble on the harp, those unpleasant violin resonances, and the area around 1k on the choir. Let me know if you want me to share it once it's done! #composer

A musical hook, while often only a few notes, can really make a game's soundtrack memorable. Two recent examples that come to mind are Baldur's Gate 3 and Europa Universalis 5. If you've played either, I bet you can sing the hook (altogether now: "Down, down, down by the river!).

I was concerned that I had plugged some cables in the wrong way when recording my piano this morning, and was annoyed that I'd have to swap the stereo on the whole thing. Ladies and Gentlemen, I've just say down and put my headphones on the correct way around.

My Cubase template was last updated in November '24. Clearly I'm spending time on more important things. It probably does need updating though.
