I'm back, I missed you all.

Since this is an important subject I know too much about, here's a 🧵 explaining that

AI Safety Is Mostly A Sex Cult.

I don't think these people should make policy. (1/?)

It's true that *at an individual level* you should be kind. Don't scream at your anti-vaxx neighbors or whatever.

But when it comes to *public discourse* the most important message is that vaccines save lives and anti-vaxx beliefs kill children. If they feel attacked by that, it's not my problem.

I found "Pacing the Frontier" parochial and blinkered.

So I created racingthefrontier.com - a satirical and humorous take in favour of open models.

If I recall correctly she uses “Hollywood” as a pejorative at one point. Like, if a big action blockbuster is inherently distasteful to you…why review one!

“We are not shown that war and killing are bad” when the entire plot of the movie is said to have been triggered by the breaking of sacred laws. Fascinating
Elsewhere she mentions Odysseus traversing “yet another beautiful landscape,” like that’s a bad thing? “This movie had too many beautiful visuals” is a nonsense critique, one of about half a dozen she makes that I think are just flat-out wrong.
