This new ten seconds rule to come off when substituted doesn't really allow for a grand goodbye to a club legend at the end of the season.
Hopefully common sense will prevail should Van Dijk leave at the end of the season and be substituted with four minutes to go at Anfield.

I've been doing some more research into this.
Here's the weighted squad age of all teams in the top five leagues across a full season ('51-52). Now some isolated teams look fine, but for so many to have an average squad age weighted by minutes in the 30s+ is nuts.

Having turned over to the Test, I really want England to declare and bowl on this with it doing absolutely loads and going along the floor every now and then. If Brook is finding it hard work, there's no way the Pakistani batters are going to be able to cope against our attack.
