I haven't given the DNC money since they undercut Sanders' candidacy, then went to court to say they were under no obligation to host an unbiased primary election. "Harry Reid admitted in July 2016, “I knew—everybody knew—that this was not a fair deal.”" observer.com/2017/08/cour...
Court Concedes DNC Had the Right to Rig Primaries Against Sanders
The court affirmed that the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz held a palpable bias in favor Hillary Clinton.

Russia has moved to a new level of warfare - a regime of constant drone pressure that it can sustain continuously. In 2025–2026, the Shahed evolved from a relatively simple one-way drone into an entire family of systems with different missions⤵️

Visitors to the US are on track to drop by almost two million year-on-year.

“We’re the only major country in the world losing visitation,” the head of the US Travel Association said. “It’s mind-boggling.”

Ohhhh we're doing black people fleeing to Canada again.
Pursued by ICE, some Haitians in the U.S. are fleeing across the northern border to seek safety in Canada, @nickmiroff.bsky.social reports. He travels the secret routes through forests that some are taking to escape deportation:

Republicans, in their infinite wisdom, left a big gambling loophole in the Medicaid work requirements.

I'm no fan of the gambling industry, but if you are on Medicaid and struggling to deal with the work requirements, taking a $580 bet on both sides of an outcome is one way of getting around them.

This is a tax guy. His advice could be the difference between someone having their assets seized & maybe going to jail, or not.

Now imagine having to worry about racist shit in every interaction you have with any person in authority. Every doctor & nurse, every cop, every lawyer & judge, every boss
A HMRC official was sacked because he was caught on camera saying he gives wrong information to black and brown people when they call for advice in a bid to sabotage them. He was a member of the far right group Patriotic Alternative.

How many more?

INBOX: the last dedicated science reporter at The Wall Street Journal, @aylinwoodward.bsky.social, has left the newsroom.

This came after the Murdoch-owned newspaper dissolved its Health and Science Bureau last October. NPR, CBS, and WaPo also gutted their climate desks in the last eight months.

I do think we should stop using the term "unitary executive" in public discourse and simply call it what it is: dictatorship
It's important to do what's Sam's doing here and parsing the law & Constitution, but we must keep in view the forest:

This is a huge advance in the US's transition into a presidential dictatorship. It gives the dictator effective authority to cancel laws by firing those tasked with enforcing them.
Article II of the Constitution gives the President the duty ("he shall") to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." This is the opposite of that. Even if SCOTUS is right that he can fire agency heads for cause, SCOTUS didn't say he can shut down an agency created by Congress.

Absolutely shocking how easy this is.
Here is Tom Steyer personally supporting high school trans athlete AB Hernandez.

I don't think I've ever seen a candidate as brave as Tom Steyer in his explicit support for trans folks. It says a lot that it took a self funded billionaire not dependent on donors to do it.

I’m a broken record, but it’s facially insane that the SCOTUS’s position is that the interest of a political party—an entity with no special constitutional protection—in gerrymandering is more important than black people’s right to vote, which we have several constitutional amendments addressing

Hi! I'm a farmer!

This NYT article is sweet, saccharine bullshit.

Farmers knew Trump was going to hurt our business. Because he already did a trade war in his 1st term.

I even did a video on why so many farmers support Trump, WHILE knowing he'd hurt our farms.

Regarding Callais, I think it would surprise the crafters of the 15th Amendment that when they wrote "The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation," they had left it up to SCOTUS—and not to Congress—to decide what legislation is "appropriate."
I honestly came to Bluesky today specifically for your opinion on the VRA opinion.

I guess you probably need time. Will you post here about it?

The only other time such a large fraction of stations simultaneously set new monthly records was during the Dust Bowl.
