So I've been learning to play bass for the last two months and TBH, it's going pretty well.

Google is apparently telling me this isn't actually an insane idea.
I need to run some SQL on a schedule, and I'm too lazy/time-constrained to stand up an actual Airflow environment. It occurred to me that I could run ETLs via scheduled Lambdas, and that was when I realized it was time to call it a day.

True story. Sankey diagrams have been forever ruined for me.

TIL, there is a limit on the number of commits you can have on a branch when trying to do a rebase and merge onto another branch (i.e., feature branch into main)
We're 40K lines of code in and only have like 200K more to go. I expect to hit my weekly session limit at some point around Monday, so I'll have to switch over to Codex then

Apparently, Claude can ping you on your phone when it has a question in a coding session running on your computer, and I totally understand how this has completely wrecked people's work-life balance now.

I handed Fable 5.1 a 300-line Markdown file outlining a general vision, some architecture details, and some strongly held opinions as a prompt, and it returned a 2,500-line spec that was almost exactly what I had in mind. It required a bit of tweaking, but not much.

yes, but also they want to coopt the military industrial complex, that's one of the chief reasons to specifically lean into cyberwarfare as an angle

As an aside, if birth rates absolutely tank (globally, not just in developed countries) even harder than they have been over the next decade or two, that would probably be a positive long-term development at this point.
On the one hand, this could mean the rise of active insurgent movements in developed countries, because sustained unemployment, the likes of which most countries have never seen, seems like a recipe for societal collapse and probably a couple of major wars.

People who aren't using AI for coding at this point aren't just delusional, they're unemployable. We passed the "adapt or retire" point a while ago.
People who aren’t using AI to code at this point are delusional or lying, trying to ride a horse down the highway and backing up the traffic instead of asking “what can we do to make cars safer and electric.” They have no ethical high ground

There is a Google employee/data science influencer who keeps showing up in my LinkedIn feed and recycles the same post every few weeks with slightly different wording, and like, why would you do this? It seems like a mostly pointless exercise, and the original post wasn't particularly insightful

Took a bit of trial and error, but a 40ms delay + room reverb seems pretty decent. Need to play around more with the dynamics settings (i.e., compressor).
