i dont even engage in negative self talk anymore. i really dont. i want to live. i want to live in peace and quiet but normal society wont tolerate it because living in peace and quiet doesnt pay rent, and i dont want to wind up homeless and killed in the streets, so i cant live in peace and quiet

Normally I'd think you're irredeemable if you get to a point where you call companies by their stock market ticker symbols but "SBUX" is just plain fun to say

Because my job can be a real bummer, when I am searching for instances of sexual violence among men in a defined group, you don't search for "sexual assault," you search for "hazing." We have euphemized language because we really, really don't want to address this in any real terms.
increasingly I have come to believe that men sexually assault and harass *other men* far more than is clearly understood, and I suspect that grappling with that will be crucial to bringing about real change.
This Cornell Chi Phi alum's story of being sexually assaulted as a pledge—and his ensuing mental health struggles—has really stuck with me. (Chi Phi is the fraternity where Jane Doe was gang raped.)

Taking a relief printing class is all about learning to hide the cuts on your hands from when you jab yourself accidentally with the carving tools.

A lot of dogshit roleplayers quit interhuman roleplaying for this bullshit and got banned or kicked from various roleplay communities. A net boon for the RP communities, but now they'll all come back I guess.

The hardware store near where I grew up always had a large cage with a local humane society cat/kitten or two and their details for anyone looking to adopt and they'd cycle the cats to get eyes on them. I bet a lot of cats got homes that way.

I rarely have the classic falling dream but a while ago I had one but it lasted forever and I actually got bored while falling and it pissed me off so bad. I hit the ground but it was like falling from a "normal" distance so it hurt but I got up and I was so mad because I landed in suburbs.

Do we have a name for the term for when people who are really good at something are allowed to get away with being annoying or kinda shitty about something because of their skill? Like how jesters have jester privilege but for artists sleeping in or something?

Use reference. I’m serious. I get it that somehow you or someone convinced you that using reference is “cheating.” It’s not. You are just hindering yourself.

I think a cruel truth we're all going to have to face is that being open and vulnerable about our experiences of sexual violence in public forums has absolutely no impact on anyone who doesn't already understand sexual violence is a horrendous problem, and may harden the dismissive and predatory.
