👁️ Blink and you’ll miss it… unless you slow things down to 480 fps I was just 8 feet away from this Eurasian Sparrowhawk, using a 600mm lens. In slow motion, its nictitating membrane sweeps across the eye and back again, acting like a tiny windscreen wiper.

A tale of two castles. Kilchurn in the rain the day before presented little to photograph and then Castle Stalker the next morning in quiet but changeable conditions. At least it brought a bit of colour, and a few otters to watch.
