Introducing the Goga Lab @ctbatucsf.bsky.social @ucsfcancer.bsky.social

We study aggressive breast and liver cancers and mechanisms of oncogene signaling that lead to metastasis.
Our works spans various areas including metabolism, cell cycle and spatial organization of tumors.

Tomorrow we celebrate the life and accomplishments of J. Michael Bishop @ucsfcancer.bsky.social who set the foundation for modern cancer biology.

I was blessed to have spent some time in his lab. Looking forward to celebrating with all the former trainees.

Some pics from his 90th BDay dinner.

Really enjoyed attending the Metabolic Rewiring in Cancer and Degenerative Diseases symposium @UnivHelsinki this week.

Lots of great speakers and fascinating new research on how metabolism can be leveraged for benefit treatment of multiple diseases. @ucsfcancer.bsky.social @ctbatucsf.bsky.social

Agree this is a fantastic opportunity, including joining a community of early career researchers that receive extensive training and support towards developing an academic research career. Two years of postdoctoral funding and subsequent recruitment incentive at any UC school.
Applications are now open for the UC President's Postdoc Fellowship
Reach out if you want to submit an applicaiton focused on environmental/soil sciences, biogeochemistry, climate change, & related areas
As a former fellow, this is a program I highly recommend 4 ECRs interested in academic careers

After an initial prognosis of less than six months, I recently passed 15 years and will be turning 57 this week.

Dreams that generations fought for are finally becoming reality.

Here’s to every girl who has ever been told, “Baseball isn’t for you.” Keep proving them wrong💪
