Weird day in D.C. politics: Due to a quirk in the law, At-Large Council member Robert White may have to resign from the D.C. Council by next Tuesday if he wants to serve as delegate to Congress, a race he is expected to win easily. www.washingtonsun.com/metro/robert...
Robert White Is Rushing to Preserve His Eligibility in the D.C. Delegate Race
The Democratic nominee to be the District’s nonvoting congressional delegate is currently exploring options to navigate a 1970 law that threatens his eligibility.

in brazil we do the L with the left hand in homage to Lula.

NOW apparently leftist movements are adopting it as a symbol against fascism in their country.

i am a bit shocked

I say it plainly: I do not celebrate Castro. I call Cuba what it is, an authoritarian regime, and I will fight for the Cuban families who fled it.

Meanwhile, Ashley Moody backs deporting Cuban families back to the regime they escaped.

The opposition will initially have to see if they can work with the Arabs. Yair Golan and his Democrats were the only ones to state this up front. This is why I voted for them. But Eisenkot and the Bennet/Lapid voters (not to mention a lot of Arabs) won't love this scenario.

Lots of possibilities here, most that will leave at least some voters angry at the party they voted for.

It's like going to a high school prom and finding out the one rule is everyone has to trade partners with someone else. Yes, a few will be happy, but most won't. It's a recipe for drama.
Exit polls are in. All three major channels have Netanyahu bloc at 50 and Jewish opposition at 52-3. Arab bloc at 17-18. Far right channels (mostly 14) give Netanyahu more but no idea how. Likud drained their partners and came out biggest but the media isn’t covering this as a victory for them.

Opposition block 52; Bibi block 50; Arab parties 18; This is a DRAMATIC result. Palestinians with Israeli citizenship hold all the leverage.
18 SEATS to the Arab parties. There is not viable coalition without them.
Both right wing nutjobs parties are out. More soon.

Elderly voters spoke to the media, stressing they are voting to avoid losing their rights to the land, as their families did during the 1948 Nakba.
