I heard a Le Tigre song in a Starbucks ad on this day, the day after I was the victim of a hit and run in the Chicago suburbs, and I'm honestly not sure which one hurts worse.

Can someone please inform Dems that doing Red Scare 2.0 shit while Roy Cohn's butt boy is president is not the cool #resistance look y'all think it is?

While y'all said for years that you wanted a "Joe Rogan of the left," your reactions to Hasan show that you just wanted Joe Rogan ON the left.

Can someone explain to me why the liberal/left response to interpersonal conflict is almost always an overstatement of harm followed by an in-group smear campaign? I'm watching this happen to someone I love right now and it's so painful. Everyone needs to read Sarah Schulman's Conflict Is Not Abuse.

This is a legit catastrophic bill that @govpritzker.illinois.gov is proudly pushing. Call your state senator and tell them to vote NO on SB3977!
The Illinois State House just passed HB 5511, a bill that will require EVERY WEBSITE and EVERY APP to implement an age verification check.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov has pushed this hard and it’s Meta’s preferred solution to avoid liability.

Votes here. CALL YOUR REPS!

At the site where feds killed Alex Pretti, the air still smells faintly of tear gas. Hundreds of people still here behind some impromptu barricades.

Message spray painted on the road reads, "fuck ICE, love always wins."

the failure of democratic leadership to fight back against this tyranny is wholly disqualifying. jeffries refusing to whip votes against ice funding is effectively a tacit approval of the street executions of americans by an unaccountable federal paramilitary. I dunno, man. they’ve abandoned us

It's not enough to defund or abolish ICE. The entire DHS needs to be dismantled, with its few reasonable functions assigned to different agencies, and not replaced by an equivalent government agency. Demand more from these fascist bastards.

Social movements are strong when the rowdy and the peaceful elements work in solidarity with one another. The myth of the provocateur is spread specifically because it undermines that solidarity.

Someone turned foreign policy into another failed casino
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

The surrender caucus secured yes votes from Democrats who aren't facing re-election this cycle, but four of them have Democratic governors who can pick their replacement.

If you live in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maine or Virginia this is an easy and effective way to make your anger clear.
Yup, and the damage isn’t so much in the story as in the proof of weakness. Trump now knows he has new torture tools to make Dems do what he wants. It’s why at least one of the 7 capitulators oughta be run out of office now, mid session. Get that number down to 6. www.offmessage.net/p/16-thought...

MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

My kingdom for Democrats that don't govern out of fear. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The American people are far braver than their reps.

They betrayed all of us. Schumer has no allies left.

I gotta give it up to the writers tho. If NYC elects a Muslim mayor on the day Dick Cheney died, that is one hell of a slow played story arc. Every time you want to fire 2025's writers room they give you a little narrative resolution as a treat.
