Here's very nice beetle to start off your week. It's a red turnip beetle, Entomoscelis americana. I found it above timberline on Montana's Beartooth Plateau, where as far as I can tell there are no turnips, but the beetle is the expert, not me. 🐙🌿 #BugSky

Did you know that in nearly 40%--almost HALF--of news stories that report "shark attacks," the shark never even touched the person? The media needs to do better.

Sharks do not infest ocean waters. It is their home.

Let's spread truth during #SharkWeek!

My 19 yo gave me an editorial suggestion of where an em dash would work better.

Does this make me a parenting success?

Confession: I didn't walk or work early this morning.

Instead, I took a 7 a.m. nap followed by planting about 20 strawberry plants before sitting at my desk.

Insomnia is not my friend and the reason for early naps.

Who has heard frogs this year? Or are you still waiting (like me)?

I’m in southeastern PA, but others nearby have heard them!

Follow the calls of frogs to find frog eggs--but be careful. Never touch frog eggs with lotion, sunscreen, or perfume on your hands.

We were able to buy the rest of @annettewhipple.bsky.social’s beautiful animal books with the cash we earned during November’s bookfair! They are here, and the librarians are as excited as the kids!

When you learn how your book makes a difference for a family....well, words are tough to come by. ❤️ Fabulous idea for family dinners!

Thanks for sharing Courtney!
@tyndalehouse.bsky.social
One of the best things we’ve done during family dinners is read a short devotional while everyone starts the meal. It helps calm wiggly kids and full mouths are quiet ones.

This one by @annettewhipple.bsky.social is one of our favorites. Each night a different kid gets to choose the animal.
