I missed the annual Labor Day weekend girls’ trip to Martha’s Vineyard with my girlfriends back on the east coast. I was feeling wistfully sad about it. So they brought it to me in the form of a friendship necklace and sweet card they all signed while there!

I’ve accidentally killed a lot of plants in my lifetime. But I’m very proud to say that I took this pretty much dying orchid that was here in our house when we moved in, and rehabbed it back to life.

Malibu Creek State Park. We had been wanting to see this area for some time. The most beautiful coastal live oaks native to the region. Easily 150 years old! Also where M.A.S.H. and Planet of the Apes were filmed many decades ago.

What a joy to see THE PUFFIN WHO WHISPERED out in the world! Marcia Strykowski is already a talented middle grade author, and this charming picture book proves she has a wonderful touch with younger readers, too. Little readers will fall in love with Abigale puffin. #kidlit #childrensbooks

These feelings—the wanting things to slow down and not change, but then wanting it, even when you don’t quite know what’s ahead. #parenthood #motherhood #writerslife
