ANRs are the most frustrating kind of issues on Android. Let’s understand what it is and follow for deep dives.

Hack to reduce slop by 90%

Migrated @measure.sh to NextJs 16.3 in less than an hour with Fable.

It updated dependencies and minor code, ran tests and frontend flows, and all I had to do was a final pass + PR review.

This kinda thing used to take days or weeks to do.

Coding agents are amazing when your codebase isn't slop.

Claude Fable loves adding useless negative tests. If I change code to stop doing X, it'll add a test that it "doesn't do X."Tests should verify behaviour, not non-behaviour. There are infinite things a piece of code doesn't do. These tests just confuse future maintainers and agents.

"Open source is dead" feels similar to the Saaspocalypse hype.

Before coding agents, execution cost was high. Coding may be easier now but building reliable software is still hard, maybe even harder than before. In most cases, using well maintained OSS just makes more sense than rolling my own.

Finishing up the last bit of polish on our Perfetto integration.

Perfetto traces captured from production are now just a click away. Open a trace from the session timeline directly in ui.perfetto.dev.

Coming soon in the next release.

The best thing about coding agents is they do whatever I ask them to.

The worst thing about coding agents is also that they do whatever I ask them to.

I can be using the completely wrong approach or get deep into a bad rabbit hole and they will happily code away without complaints. Need better UX

Android 17 introduces a local MCP equivalent called AppFunctions.

Similar to how a MCP server declares tools that be used by agents, an AppFunction exposes app capabilities to AI agents like Gemini.

Working on some trace viewer improvements for @measure.sh . Runs smoothly with hundreds of spans on Android, iOS, React Native and Flutter performance traces. More improvements coming to the platform soon...

measure.sh just became platform-agnostic for mobile devs 🚀

#ReactNative joins #ios, #android & #flutter.

We unified the Errors page so crashes + ANRs live in one clean view with all the debugging context you need.

Now’s the right time to try Measure → measure.sh

It's just the prompt bro

You gotta prompt in more detail bro

You need to put it in a skill bro

You need to make it a spec bro

Your specs aren't clear enough bro, you need to add more detail bro

Specs aren't detailed enough bro, write pseudocode bro

Let's just write code bro

Build @measure.sh as an open source mobile app monitoring platform.

Use @iggy.rs for ingesting crazy amounts of mobile telemetry data.

Run into issues.

Iggy maintainer drops into our repo.

Stress tests 3 million events.

Tells us how to improve our performance.

Open source is ❤️

Android 17 will start killing resource hungry apps.

New per-app RAM limits mean extreme memory leaks get terminated. Worth profiling your apps now to be ready.

We're building stuff in measure.sh for easy prod detection.

Android 17 has a cool fix for an attack that doesn't even exist yet.

Save a signed APK now → forge a malicious update once quantum breaks today's crypto.

The fix: every APK gets two signatures: classical + quantum-resistant.

Backward compatible by design.
