Among the more notable documents is a redacted version of a report produced by Cornell’s disciplinary hearing panel.

It sheds additional light on the university’s investigation and summarizes the panel’s findings.

I got really annoyed that so many stories about the "Cornell 7" case don't link to the underlying court documents.

So I compiled the key filings from Jane Doe's civil suit and from a separate suit brought by one of the accused.

Read them here: annabower.substack.com/p/read-the-c...

Hot take: I don't think social media made people dumber. We've been dumb this whole time.

It's just that you used to have to have a job that people sent their dumb letters to, to notice.

This made "Engaging with fools" an occupational hazard rather than the 24/7 experience it is presently.
No matter how bleak things may seem, just remember that in the 1960s the US Coast Guard received reems of earnest letters begging them to save those poor castaways on Gilligan's Island.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting—
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
The trees are turning colors and there are gloriously crunchy new apples and there are migrating geese flying through the air. The Earth is beautiful and every one of us are a part of it

I trained as a woodland ecologist, and Irish culture & nature, like this alderwood, inspire my work.

Yes! 💖
Ironically, the centre right Irish Taoiseach is more left wing than the supposedly ‘extreme left - socialist’ NYC mayor. The Overton window in the US is a piece of infrastructure that is under extreme pressure. We need Mamdami to meet some left wing Irish politicians to inspire him!
I split the G (train) with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Michéal Martin.

I don’t think everyone realizes how bad things are for US science:

For the fiscal year that just ended, the Trump regime withheld $1.4 billion from the National Science Foundation’s research budget, which is about 1/5 of its primary research budget.
National Science Foundation Diverted $1.4 Billion in Science Funds Mandated by Congress (Gift Article)
The move, affecting about one-fifth of the National Science Foundation’s primary research budget, is the latest sign of how the White House is asserting more control over grants.
