So the Tassie AFL team just announced they will be sponsored by the company trying to cover our island with AI data centres.

Wonder if they will approach some terrorist organisations for funding next.

"In national news, McDonalds has fears that their latest burger may cause immortality to those who eat enough of them. Lead nutritionists are scared of how amazing they may be, with no upper limit in sight."
OpenAI’s top scientist, in a blog post on Sunday, warns that artificial intelligence is evolving so rapidly that it is becoming increasingly difficult for humans to understand and control it.

Here is the post:

And a couple of small excerpts--clear warnings.

We have witnessed an absolutely generational oversight on the devs part
They needed to stop some things from going BUMP in the night
Halloween: The Game Casually Removes Closet Sex Minigame People Barely Knew Existed
It feels like only yesterday that we were lamenting that Halloween: The Game would be banished from Australian eyes forever due to recreational drug use, but now the game is in pre-access and we can see that there are far funnier reasons for people to raise an eyebrow at the game. Players desperately figuring out how to survive the Haddonfield horror discovered that sharing a closet with another player could lead to some hot n' heavy action. The problem? One of those players might be an elderly man, while the other is a teenager. Oops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4byAgYgeVs The mechanic originally functioned by allowing two civilian characters to "ask out" one another when sharing a closet, where upon mutual consent a mini-game would occur behind the closed doors, enabling an off-screen romantic encounter. People had only just discovered the feature before it was brutally yoinked out of the game. But why? The complication came from Donald Pleasence’s Doctor Loomis being a playable character within the game, and he too could clamber his approximately 55 to 59 years old arse into the closet with a much younger person. Oof. After a clip of such a thing occurring hit the web over the weekend and started to rack up views, Illfonic quietly removed the “ask out” mini game entirely – turning closets back into a hiding place, rather than a humping space. At this point there has been no official statement from either Illfonic or Gun Media regarding the matter, but honestly what on Earth can be said. Even the idea of a patch note addressing the oversight would be unbelievably awkward to word, like, what do you even say? Fixed a minigame event that had an unintended age gap That’s an ‘ick’ from my end, and a generational whoops from the developers. Will the system return prior to the game’s full release? Maybe this one is better off left on the cutting (stabbing?) room floor of ‘horror tropes that don’t reeeeally need to be reproduced in interactive media.’ We want to hear from you. Have you managed to check out Halloween: The Game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
