Astrophysicists working on ESA/Euclid data and co-lead of a new HSC medium band survey. Science comics creator, stay tuned for more science updates ✨
From watching STS-120 launch after winning a science competition, to returning almost 20 years later as an #astrophysicist to watch #NASARoman begin its journey to L2.
Still looking up. Still wondering.
Safe travels, Roman. 🚀✨

Scientist, space enthusiast, or citizen of the Universe: what’s your biggest question about the cosmos? ✨

With the launch day approaching, here’s my comic about the science questions #NASARoman will carry to L2.

What would yours be? 🚀

From Icarus to the Moon: a game of light and shadows
On mythology, falling stars, a total solar eclipse, and the particular moment when astronomy leaves our screens and belongs to everyone.

Icarus flew too close to the Sun and was burned by its fire.
The Moon keeps her distance and without ever touching the Sun, she can eclipse it. 🌑☀️

Today in La Coruna, astronomy left our computer screens and became a shared experience. Rigorous science can speak a universal language. #solareclipse

✨New observatories do not simply answer the questions they were designed to address. They often reveal entirely new scientific landscapes.

💡Which questions do you expect #Roman will help us rethink?

Euclid: Galaxy SED reconstruction in the PHZ processing function: impact on the PSF and the role of medium-band filters
Weak lensing surveys require accurate correction for the point spread function (PSF) when measuring galaxy shapes. For a diffraction-limited PSF, as arises in space-based missions, this correction dep...

Euclid researchers wrote several papers using the new Q1 data. Seven of them focus on AGN. These objects are associated with supermassive black holes at the centre of galaxies, actively accreting matter and releasing a great amount of energy: @esa.int
