A child in an Idaho faith-healing family died of a treatable condition.

Then another died — and another, and another.

Idaho’s child abuse laws contain such broad religious exemptions that authorities didn’t intervene — before or after the deaths.
Four Kids in One Faith-Healing Family Died. Authorities Could Do Nothing.
An exemption in Idaho law shields faith-healing parents from criminal prosecution for conduct that otherwise would be charged as neglect. It also keeps police and social workers from stepping in to pr...

It has been 118 years since the Supreme Court ruled the federal government owes tribes water, but Native American communities in northern Arizona are still fighting for their rights to the Colorado River.

Native American Tribes Came Together to Secure Their Rights to Colorado River Water. Four States Are Stalling the Deal.
Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming are resisting the deal because it would allow the Navajo and Hopi to lease water to cities downstream, likely the growing towns around Phoenix.

Nice to see a politician whose Christian faith seems to mostly result in his acting like somebody who follows Christ.
Of course, Jesus wouldn’t have thrown trans athletes under the bus, being famously a supporter of marginalized people.
Something remarkable is happening: James Talarico is running an expansively pro-immigrant campaign in Texas, a state Trump won by 14 points, speaking in Biblical terms about our duty to "the stranger."

And it's resonating. That's seismic. 1/
