Okay I've been catching up on FFXIV in preparation for Evercold in January, and the Doomtrain trial in 7.4 might be the coolest fucking battle the FFXIV devs have made yet. First time I've ever finished and immediately gone "I HAVE to try this on Extreme."
Also the FFIX boss battle remix FUCKS.

No, SungWon is absolutely correct here. The insistence on sticking with the Japanese title when there is already a perfectly acceptable English one is utterly asinine. Nobody does this in Japanese literature, or film, or any other art form. It's just the anime nerds who insist on being obtuse.
This "fucking weebs" genre of elitism is so silly. Why should the English version of titles be the standard? Why should MAL use the English names for anime by default? He doesn't even provide a good reason for this stance.

We used to release three reasonably-but-not-wildly evolved entries in a series on the same console. We called them "trilogies" and usually the second one involved giving the mascot a gun.
i've been saying, one path forward for the mid-budget games industry is just... going and making expansions to popular old games. there's a market here. bring back the era of outsourced expansion packs. i'm so serious.

God I love Strange Scaffold. Every game they release is just an instant yes please because every game is gonna be completely different but also insanely creative.
Resident Evil was really good, but like a lot of Resident Evil games it falls apart in the third act. Overall, definitely a positive though.
