Yet it is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule.
My take on Trumpism is this: it was a power grab. But it was a power grab that showed what is possible from a strong executive.

If we had thousands of habeas petitions pending for immigrants, we can have a backlog for Trump and his enablers, moving them around while they huddle under foil blankets.
People who insist living in doomerism are not my people, sorry! I know creating this climate of fear is what you’ve been sold by people searching for clicks, but it’s not me.

Rahm Emanuel represents the last vestiges of dying, corporate do-nothing foolishness. He’s not a Democrat. He’s a wealthy, status quo strongly-worded letter in a suit. Anyone who listens to him is digging their own political grave.
Former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel calls on Democratic lawmakers to set aside plans to impeach President Trump if they win a majority in the House, pushing them instead to pass an ethics reform package.
Rahm Emanuel says Democrats should focus on ethics reforms rather than impeaching Trump
Democrats have publicly weighed whether they should pursue impeaching Trump for a third time.

A majority of the Senate voted to convict. Almost 60%.

This should be a more significant talking point.
To me, the "impeachment will fail" argument is irrelevant. If you swear to protect the Constitution, I don't see any other way to say you kept the oath. There is no, "I can't protect the Constitution from a domestic threat because we don't have the votes" exemption. That's how oaths work.

During impeachment, the following happened:

1) Rudy visited known Russian spy Andrii Derkach
2) Bill Barr got copy of Hunter Biden's laptop
3) DOJ dropped Burisma corruption investigation started in 2016
4) Bill Barr set up a side channel to ingest Rudy's RU dirt

Impeachment slowed none of that.
I am seeing quite a few “impeachment failed” responses, so I will address it. 1st/the Ukrainian Impeachment did not fail: can you imagine what 2020 would have been like if the impeachment did not expose the “Hunter Biden Burisma” as bunk? 2/Investigate then Impeach: Build the Drama.

If the polls say it's a close race, assume we're losing. Go vote.

If it's a tie, go vote.

Of the polls say we're up, assume we're not. Go vote.

And in each case, take a friend or neighbor to vote also.

It will take every single one of us.

It’s interesting how the standard bearer for the party whose message used to be “Democrats suck because they just buy votes by giving people free stuff” has decided the closing message for the midterms will just be “how many more checks do we have to send you in order to earn your vote?”
New: Trump’s abrupt announcement to send $90 payments to seniors by dipping into a Medicare fund has rattled Capitol Hill.

One GOP aide told WaPo that lawmakers had planned to use the money to offset funding for community health centers, diabetes programs and other initiatives.

It's irresponsible not to open source the charges AS they occur.
I'm not naive enough to actually believe this will happen, but Democrats could be preparing, right now, lists of impeachment charges against (at a bare minimum) Hegseth, Kennedy, Mullin, Patel, Blanche, & Trump, as well as Bondi, Bovino, & Noem (still worth doing!) that rely purely on public facts,

What everyone has to prepare for is the constitutional crisis to accelerate if the Democrats take the House and the Senate. Vought has been allowed by the Republicans to act with impunity, so have he will continue to ignore Congress. This is why you have to impeach him immediately.
Killed. NSF’s SBE was killed, in violation of law. The President does not have the power to choose to kill programs at a whim by defunding them. The imperial presidency was a mistake and we are in a separation of powers constitutional crisis.
The fiscal year is over.

The dying Social, Behavioral, and Economic division of NSF ended up awarding 90 total grants this year, as opposed to ~700-800 in recent past years.

It's weird how the federal government is constantly being hacked after DOGE gutted the government's cybersecurity agencies.
The Pentagon is notifying millions of current and former U.S. military servicemembers and staff that hackers stole their *unencrypted* personal information during a months-long data breach. The agency that had the breach also handles ID and login/credential access to U.S. military systems and bases.
