Fortunately, there are signs this moment is exhausting itself.

Ossoff and some others have figured out what they can gain by fighting. That’s the key — that the gains of fighting outweighs the costs of fighting. The tipping point among Dem elites is either coming or it has arrived.
Jon Ossoff could make a Senate hearing on agricultural subsidies feel like the season finale of The West Wing.

Many Democratic elites do not want to fight. They are content to benefit from the public’s backlash against the right’s destruction. It is an amoral position, which is why it tolerates corruption.

Guys. All the things on the ballot that people like me were told was "fearmongering" is actually happening.
BREAKING:

The Trump DOJ just sent letters to local election officials across California — every county in the state — demanding they identify potential noncitizens on their voter rolls and set aside their ballots.

Local officials would "risk significant federal scrutiny" if they failed to comply.

New — I wrote about Vivek Ramaswamy’s weaponization of Amy Acton’s childhood sexual abuse and how it’s only the latest symptom of a Republican party flush with rape apologists, led by an adjudicated rapist:

As Election Day closes in, the party's values have never been more clear.

The plain fact of it is thus: the Trump administration wants to re-segregate higher education. It is a racist project straight-up-no-chaser. Accommodating any of this puts you on the wrong side of history, makes you a collaborator in this project. ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

Exhausted by stupidity: Melania negotiated a 'ceasefire' while Trump bleated like a sheep. A THREAD.
1. I am very tired of being asked to be stupid. I know that is not the most important thing right now. There are many more serious consequences to electing a criminal president who is burning up the economy.

Amazing investigative journalism. Once again, I promise to take it seriously once there is any evidence at all that it has changed how Trump is covered in the political articles & front page headlines going forward:

JUST POSTED: Today at The NYT we are publishing a major investigation into how President Trump used his executive powers to expose millions of Americans to greater cancer risks.

A six month-long investigation built on more than 10,000 pages of FOIA records. Read it

The president temporarily waived clean-air rules for industrial facilities that spew cancer-causing gases. Then his appointees worked to gut the regulations altogether.

Very important thread.
🧵 Matt Yglesias is one of the biggest reasons the Democratic Party leadership is so feckless, cowardly, and lazy.

I'm not exaggerating. Yglesias is often a featured speaker at private Democratic Party events, despite almost always being wrong. Let's discuss...
