There's a beaver dam in northern Canada that's twice as wide as the Hoover Dam, and was discovered from satellite photos because it's so remote, and forms a wetland delta despite there not being any distinct creeks or rivers feeding into it.

By contrast my Sarawakian neighbors are faintly offended I speak schoolbook Malay instead of the regional dialect despite living here 20 years. My American upbringing says don't try to pass!
People are making fun of AOC for having a slight southern accent while speaking in Memphis but they clearly don’t know the pain of habitually and unconsciously imitating the speaking style of the people around you
