Don’t be deceived. Plovers are the coolest birds. Even they know it.

Ruth Cope from Adelaide University presented very exciting and promising results from the first ever GPS tracking of Australian Fairy Terns. They were able to track adults and juveniles and identified roosting and foraging areas in the Coorong and movements to SE SA.

Years 4/5 students from Margaret River have submitted Hooded Plover sculptures made from plaster, wood and acrylic paint. Each little Hoodie has their own leg flag with the students’ initials! And Year 4s from Currambine Primary School took inspiration from Australian Artist Pete Cromer! #PAD2025

Where in the world are your Chicago Piping Plovers?
El was the last to be observed in Chicago and that was on August 17. Now, we await reports of sightings from wintering grounds although no sightings is not cause for alarm as Imani, Sea Rocket, and Pippin have proven. 1/3
