I'm of Serbian descent and years ago what playing hoops with a Croatian guy and dished to him behind the back near the hoop. He asked me after the game how I knew to pass and I said "When a Serb aims at a Croat, best not miss"

We later drank ourselves into a stupor and laughed about it. We won.

How do we know AI doesn't work? I see the same 20 folks on here (who are wonderful).

Either that or there's 20 people here

I dunno, these rich nerds apparently haven't walked out and listened to the wisdom nature offers. The sandhill cranes coming through and absence of robins tells me what AI cannot

Ok so here's the long game. The "billionaires" want us all to be miserable and stay at home so we're lonely and use their products. How convenient.

I saved a bumblebee from my hot tub today and got more satisfaction. I even yelled "No, don't go in there" before fishing it out. It flew away

I played "Dead Flowers" and sang for my kids because they cleaned the basement. We had a jam session.

When I put my youngest to bed, he sang Dead Flowers to me and I am over the moon about it

Not many kids get to play a 1957 Hammond Organ through a Leslie speaker stack. My basement is clean.

The crickets are trying to warm on the blacktop, and their song and night slows, telling me winter will be here soon. Always a little somber, so it's probably good to know I dry ran a new razor to shave today and it looks like I used a dull hatchet

Not many mention Satchel Paige anymore. Possibly the greatest pitcher of all time, we all should know him. Wise as Yogi Berra, and threw 3 shutout innings for the As in his 60s. Read up on him if you don't know.

It was 4 degrees that day, and the garage gave us a windbreak but the cold made us work faster. We got this Camaro rolling in 3 hours. If it was summer, it'd have taken 6.

Every place my band took photos is now gone. Froedert Malt, 16th Street Viaduct (not pictured), and that warehouse that recently collapsed in the Third Ward. Guess we were too loud. At least the album art was good n cheesy

Start around :50 seconds and it's an accurate representation of what it was like to grow up in WI, MN, and MI. Set to a Christmas jingle. Good old rear while drive in the snow, who cares if the frame's bent?

Religious leaders want people to behave well on earth by threatening them with hell. But what if you just told people the truth, that they get this one ride on the big blue marble and that’s it? You get one chance to not be an asshole. To live well.

When we talk about the costs that LLMs impose on society we should not forget the fact that nothing works anymore because everyone is so scared of getting their shit scraped.

I can't even use google scholar from my university or starlink because they send too much traffic.
