Yes, unfortunately. HIPAA allows for a service provider like EPIC to contract to any other third party, provided that third party doesn’t violate HIPAA. I’m sure there’s some paper thin agreement not to train on it, but that doesn’t stop it from offering Very Wrong advice based on the data it sees.
