Not quite the same, but someone in Wholefoods once asked if I was the author of boomerang.
I was in an airport lounge napping and someone said my name and I looked up and it was a guy talking to his wife about my latest book, completely unaware that I was 20 feet away until I groggily said THAT'S ME, which was probably weird for them to have suddenly manifested an author out of thin air
I was in an airport lounge once where I was sure I knew the guy a few chairs away.
Being me I start chatting away, where do I know you from etcetera.
Convo lasts about an hour.
As the flight is called I ask, btw I’m Beth, and you are?

Ted Danson.

Nicest guy ever.

Broke a whole bunch of SVG charts by accidentally changing the namespace URL from http to https. The SVG element was no longer recognized as an SVG element and had no accessible style attribute.

Jean-Paul Zé Bella: the cunning Cameroonian soldier who became a global music legend
His band Zangalewa satirised Cameroon’s military from within - and helped create the football World Cup hit Waka Waka.

Found the weirdest thing when we stopped for ice cream after a waterfall hike. Apparently it's the "first confirmed UFO experience" in MA (not independently verified by me).

Well @duolingoverde.bsky.social still can't do math. Finish 2 daily quests but they only count 1.

Most people think Sherlock Holmes began at 221B Baker Street. But Holmes began somewhere far stranger: in a Victorian hospital ward in Edinburgh, where surgeon Joe Bell taught students to read a body like a crime scene.🧵

Hotter Than a Hot Tub: The 45°C Breakthrough to Cool AI’s Biggest Machines
NVIDIA’s latest AI servers can run on coolant warmer than a hot tub — and that counterintuitive choice is one of the biggest efficiency leaps in data center history.

This was my entry. I used Einkorn which is a typically very hard grain to work with, but tastes amazing. I used pepitas and black & white sesame for my seeds.
I didn't rack in the top 3, but am looking forward to feedback from the judges sometime in the next week.

The Peacock app on Xfinity uses a QWERTY keyboard on a TV screen that you can only navigate using the cursor keys on your remote. For some reason bsky won't let me attach a photo of this screen.

Someone used my phone number to book a restaurant reservation for this weekend. What should I do with it? So far I've entered the "Anything else we should know" field for the booking to say that whoever made the reservation used my phone number and I hope they have some other contact info.
