@datadoghq.com your docs are bad and you should feel bad. The Python SDK has no notes on using the new personal access tokens. The best way I've found to design a new query is to use the web 'explore', then turn on browser debugging, reload, and watch what queries it does

I believe they will "cheat like hell", they will id-challenge people, they will throw away ballots, they will intimidate with armor and guns
After President Donald Trump told attendees at the Republican midterm convention Thursday night that "we want honesty in our elections," he led them in a pledge to "cheat like hell" and "go out and vote" in the midterm elections. https://to.pbs.org/4yTjfzl

Some part of the AI debate is essentialism. The belief that a thing is better _because of the story behind it_. Sometimes this is a compressed bundle of beliefs around labor and justice and sustainable economy; but sometimes it's just magic.

It's interesting to think about what would be possible if an organisation as large as Google or Facebook or OpenAI went actually, *actually* evil. People don't dream anywhere near big enough about this kind of thing

I hear getting a tattoo on the sole of the foot is a terrible idea, but if I was drunk and getting a tattoo right now it would be ⏚ ("earth ground") on the sole of my foot (because I'm a little bit electrical engineer and a little bit hippie)

"my coworkers are all smart nice people" is the
"A- minus is the bare minimum" of my corporate existence.
Across many jobs in my career it really is an outlier where there are shitty people around.
Lucky me?

Can the Bernie fan club survive him? Yes, because he helped build up AOC and Mamdani and others
This week's POLITICO Magazine cover story: Bernie Sanders lets loose on the Democratic Party, the midterms and 2028.

The 84-year-old progressive champion built a movement. Could it survive without him?

I do not like async/await (Sam I Am)
It effectively adds another type to functions that has to be type-checked or type-coerced and it's _tedious_
I always run into it as a burden: "oops, that's async so now I have to do async stuff"
In both Rust and Python it's just an awkward extension to me

I threw some leftovers in a bowl and microwaved it, and realized I'd accidentally made a perfect single serving green-bean-tatertot-casserole. This feels like an underexplored part of my Minnesotan heritage and didn't expect it to land so hard at breakfast today.

my least favorite government is crapping on one of my favorite agencies, the Census Bureau! They had one job, be good data nerds and provide the country with good data, and of course the worst government hates that and just wants the Census to be a mouthpiece for stupid crap
NEW: Today is Day 3 of the Census Bureau's homepage, census.gov, featuring an unauthored report with analysis that @npr.org found was conducted not by career civil servants, but a team that included individuals affiliated with a President Trump-aligned think tank, the America First Policy Institute
Experts raise alarms over Census Bureau report Trump is touting on noncitizen voting
A Trump-aligned think tank has ties to a highly unusual Census Bureau report that the president is using to renew false claims of widespread voting by non-U.S. citizens in 2020, NPR has learned.
