A very useful guide from @stephenkb.bsky.social to the difference between legitimate concerns and racism, and how that muddled approach leads to muddled policy.

Also. Racist thuggery isn’t protest.

This. If you are trying to rehabilitate a hypothesis that the overwhelming consensus has thoroughly buried, the minimum requirement is to have new data to support that rehabilitation attempt. Writing essays and blogs based on the reasoning of debunked racist cranks will just make you one of them.
Sometimes society at large rejects certain ideas because they’ve been thoroughly shown to be wrong and also because they suck and the people who espouse them suck and when someone comes around arguing those ideas should be part of some edgy modern debate we can and should shun them and move on.

Voting for Brexit or Boris Johnson did not, in the great scheme of things, demand support for anything truly toxic. Voting for Farage, by contrast, absolutely & obviously does. This is why the people who brought you the first two disasters are working so hard to detoxify him, in two main ways… 1/2

In normal times, the fact that government officials at HHS blatantly lied to the public and got caught would be a scandal of unusual size.

Everyone involved in this disinformation scheme against the people of the United States should be held accountable.
