This whole slew of twitter spats is an apt illustration of the current environment. It started with a link I posted without comment from the Times of Israel which discussed a poll of American Jews. The poll had a number of findings but the headlines focused on the data point …

The only debt limit deal Ds should agree to is to eliminate it entirely — or at minimum suspend it for a decade.

It is only used to extort policy concessions under threat of permanently damaging the country, & it only works because everyone knows Rs are reckless enough to actually pull the trigger.

I have no idea how to have this conversation within Jewish circles but the very obvious path we're on is that the ADL is devaluing the concept of antisemitism by making it synonymous with Ms Rachel and Macklemore, spending down the capital of American Jews in service of a genocidal apartheid state
yeah the basic issue is that to avoid upsetting the Trump administration, every organization combatting antisemitism has decided that literally only antizionism is antisemitism
More in my lane is how anti-semitism is now basically unregulated on social media, how any 14 year old can now find "Jewish question" content that was walled off 10 years ago... and all the energy is in banning Israel boycotts. I assure you, that's making this worse!

This is very wonky and technical, but the end result is important. If this became law, it would force MedPAC to produce a report that makes Medicare Advantage look *way* better. It would nuke independent research and make it more likely for insurers to keep their MA gravy train.

I just can’t believe this is what they want for their sport. They hired a bunch of influencers but can’t put the big games on at any sort of normal time? It’s so crazy.

I guess it’s ok for Paige and Azzi to sell their own story but the press can’t ask about it? I think it’s crazy that the press let themselves get bullied into dropping what really is one of the most unique stories in sports history.

Sickening
Gavin Wilkinson's recommendation and player-blaming played a key role in Paul Riley staying in the NWSL after his sexual coercion of Mana Shim & Sinead Farrelly, and later signed off on keeping Andy Polo on Portland's books after substantial domestic violence allegations.
The San Jose Earthquakes confirm to ESPN that they have hired former Portland Thorns/Timbers executive Gavin Wilkinson as a consultant until the end of the 2026 season.

Honestly, I have the same reaction! (And I’m knocking on wood as I type this.) But I think it’s good that we’re not taking a clean injury report for granted. 🙂

Just canceled my DashPass and sent this email to DoorDash. I encourage you to do the same if you support D.C. home rule. [email protected] and [email protected]

my hot take is that this is the actual america 250. just a ton of different people coming together, showing people what makes America weird and fun. people being welcoming. and yeah there’s some bullshit too, which is also very true to America! but the good and community far outweighs it rn.

He saw Trump with complete clarity, as a danger to America, but protected him anyway.

Trump: "They say it was 40 pounds of muscle. I don't know how the hell that happened. They didn't have modern day drugs. Of course, the modern day drugs don't do that either, do they? In fact, they actually take away the muscle. That's not good."

This simple statutory change provides the biggest bang for the buck in terms of economic growth and fiscal responsibility of any other possible reform.
