I ride the bus

I like that the truth has “limited” on site parking (it’s still too much). I like that it used less concrete and resources to build. I like that it encourages you to use public transit, bike or carpool. I like that the parking plan is the whole neighborhood. I like that there are shows most nights.

If you’re only willing to make improvements to places that have had crashes, you do not believe in vision zero, you believe in vision not another but if it happens again, we can look at that too. The main point is to prevent serious injuries and deaths.

In 2024 the US Department of Energy proposed these routes for electrification. No time like the present to get to work making it a reality.

I'm glad to see someone actually talk about this in some regards. Cars without drivers are still cars, and don't magically "solve" traffic.
This post may be the most effective argument right now for letting public transit wither. It may not make sense to you, but it feels right to many, many people. So in a short new post, I talk through what's going on here, and how to engage with it. humantransit.org/2026/09/the-...

Speaking of street lights: I just got a ride via Sylvan Park tonight. The roundabout at the entrance of McCabe at the bottom of Murphy Road is really too dark. A dad and kid were on their bikes in the crosswalk coming from the park: nearly invisible in spite of having reflectors. I'll tell Hub.

I like outdoor seating as much as the next guy, but you probably should leave enough room for people to pass on the sidewalk…

Observation from the Twin Cities: all these scenic, shaded tree-lined streets are possible because they run power lines down the alleys

And when it's 90+ degrees out, the lack of shade trees along our sidewalks is a big problem for people who walk to get around or who wait for buses at stops that don't have shelters to provide shade.
NES incompetence caused several people to freeze to death in their homes. They knew the electricity wasn’t coming back on but they withheld that info so ppl stayed and froze in their homes.

CEO kept her job.

Now they’re taking revenge on all of Nashville by indiscriminately mauling our trees.
Then, after last winter’s ice storm, the city sent a crew to trim our trees. They did so under an absurd new policy that basically ravages the trees.

All I want is for people to pay attention to the road in front of them and obey the rules of the road. Its the bare minimum and it would make all of us so much safer.

Imagine one of these popping open a door as we ride in the ubiquitous door zone bike lanes
This feels like a bad idea for traffic

Thought: Nashville Transit earmarks $$ for the Link program giving $$ to rideshare-app rando drivers & billionaire shareholders.

Why can't $$ be shifted to expand on-demand Access Ride to seniors 65 & over?

TOO MANY 90-YEAR-OLDS IN MY BUILDING DRIVE THEIR OWN CARS.

Cities with on-demand transit:

Closing one side of the KVB Bridge sidewalk (while no work is being done) adds 7x as much delay for a pedestrian as no right on red adds for a motorist.

Placing the closure sign halfway across the six-lane bridge makes that 19x as much delay for a pedestrian as no RTOR adds for a motorist.

My hot take is that most residential streets don’t need to be any wider than this.

This looks more akin to what I ride. Tell any sensible user that you can't use a class 3 e-bike here... just all a very hilariously misguided "debate". Make this street look more like Utrecht, then we can debate 20 mph vs 28 mph lol
Completely unserious city

Can’t count how many times the dystopian stuff that make people want to abolish ICE is also something that’s already being used by police or subjected upon people in the criminal legal system.
