[Spoiler alert] Bonnie in Gone With The Wind (book). I read that book so many times in my teens and I cried every time.
There are so many layers of trauma: the fact that her parents didn’t want a child & barely knew her, the horror of the cholera epidemic, being forgotten when everyone else flees (and most of them die), the half-eaten meal still spread out on the table, her terrible manners (see above). Poor Mary.

We have a cormorant colony in one of our local Metroparks. All of the trees are dead and bleached by bird poop. Some of them fell during storms this winter, so the nests are much closer together this year.

(2/2) One night she left to get some sleep. When she came back to the ward, all 8 of her patients had died overnight. She called my nephew sobbing her heart out. So devastating!

Back in the summer of 2020, my nephew was friends with a young nurse on a Covid ward. She had 8 patients, all on respirators. If y’all remember, this was a scary time before vaccines when people like presidents were promoting unproven treatments. (1/2)

I am absolutely certain that being the president who shoots a nuclear missile is the sole reason for this Iran thing.

Chuck Schumer has a book tour starting this week.

It would be a damn shame if people showed up to let him know how they feel about his capitulation on the short-term spending bill passed by the Senate Friday afternoon.

At various times I’ve tried alphabetizing but invariably I come across a beloved book that I have to immediately reread and the rest is chaos.
So my initial answer was "Alphabetical, by author, duh." And probably 50% of my books as organized that way. But I also have shelves dedicated to books I haven't read, a YA section, a small dedicated bookshelf for entertainment industry books, a shelf of "books by friends." Etc. So... "Anarchy."

Scrolling through the guide, I ran across New Orleans super motorcross on — the Samuel Goldwyn Classics channel?! Sure enough, it was actually the movie “New Orleans” with Satchmo, Lady Day, and an amazing cast of postwar jazz musicians.
