Enraging. Universities are underfunded in every province (esp Ontario), colleges are closing, int'l students can't get post-grad work permits, admitted students stuck in Gaza are being ignored, but sure, let's give UofT & McGill a few temporary rockstars www.nytimes.com/2026/08/27/w...

This is a trifecta of stupidity. This person knows nothing about how unions work, nothing about the gross exploitation of grad-school adjuncts and nothing about workplace power dynamics. Also: The headline is disgusting.

A few things: (1) AI should not be used to assist writing. Cognitive outsourcing is bad. (2) The college essay is on the decline because of labor as much as AI. Educators are worried that many students can no longer write essays without A.I. And it’s costing more than just grammar skills.

The fact that Carney is posting this today shows that he genuinely doesn't give a single solitary shit about the climate crisis that is BURNING SWATHS OF CANADA AS WE SPEAK
The world wants to do more with Canada. Our MOU with Alberta will unlock those opportunities in energy — and create lasting benefits for Canadians.
