Forwarded to me by a friend who live close by, leaflets today put through letterboxes of homes close to HQ of Board of Deputies of British Jews, located in Camden, which was the target of a demo. Case study intimidation and viciousness of a very specific kind.

2 festivals with no budget for speakers
1 writing course with no budget for teachers
1 film project with no budget to option the book - plus they wanted me to write the screenplay. For free.
Don't do it, kids. Don't work for free. Because to them, what's free is worthless.

It's just weird isn't it when the British Museum is running a sold-out exhibition, when The Odyssey reports $1billion at the box office, when the V&A has just opened the most innovative and accessible museum model in Europe....and this is what our minister for research comes out with.
A cheery message from the new minister responsible for research funding for the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences (and the subjects that the majority of UK taught undergraduate and Masters students study).

What knowledge do you need to be British? The Life in the UK test should help people understand the country they’re joining rather than just testing how well they can memorise obscure facts.

Media presenters in UK may have skewed perceptions of balamce of Jewish opinion towards Israeli govt. Centre of gravity aligns with Miliband (attached to Israel & critical of Netanyahu). Varies by faith/denomination & politics: many cons & mainstream orthodox disapprove Netanyahu govt too. See IJPR
Jewish views by denom+ politics

Strictly orthodox are pro-Netanyahu outliers. Prog disapproval universal.

Most right-leaning/Cons Jews in Britain disapprove of Netanyahu. A quarter approve.

Voters for Cons/Reform x20 more likely to approve than left voters. But most on right disapprove too

The Capita civil service pension fiasco should be a much bigger scandal than it seems to be. There are people leaving work next week who won’t be paid their pensions as entitled and will have to claim Universal Credit.

The one constructive thing out of Starmer's resignation might be forcing Burnham to think about London earlier than he would otherwise have to.

Because Labour absolutely cannot win an election without London. It is, these days, Labour's truest heartland – and is taken utterly for granted.
All that plus… Burnham doesn’t really like London. That’s kinda his whole schtick. Which is fine, but place-based enthusiasm matters in by-elections
