The LA Co. Board of Supervisors delayed voting on a motion that would force the Sheriff's Dept to name deputy gangs within its ranks on Tuesday.
The move came in front of about 30 uniformed personnel who filled the meeting's gallery.

Think about all the work regular & impacted folks have to do just to build bare bones transparency & accountability into our local criminal systems.
We shouldn’t need a motion to get the Sheriff & Co. to do the bare minimum to root out deputy gangs.

23 years ago this week: Deondre Brunston was gunned down by LA County Sheriff's deputies after he threw a sandal at a police dog. My additional review of this case revealed that some of the deputies behind Deondre's death are part of a deputy gang.

23 years ago this week: Deondre Brunston was gunned down by LA County Sheriff's deputies after he threw a sandal at a police dog. My additional review of this case revealed that some of the deputies behind Deondre's death are part of a deputy gang.

I would be reporting more but @groundgamela.bsky.social’s retaliatory lawsuit against me and other journalists continues to force me into prioritizing other work so I can pay an attorney to defend their frivolous lawsuit. Don’t believe any of them when/if they ever say they support a free press.
