There are 270 black professors in the UK. Out of 26.000. About 1%. But somehow journalists who clearly have no idea of how academic hiring works manage to create an illusion of "wokeness" having taken over hiring decisions at universities.

All too often race is pitted as a biological difference for racial disparities. However, it is the effects of racism that drive these disparities and more research is needed to highlight this.
