Recent heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in Cabra. This highlights the need for less concrete and more water diversion. We have been working with Lawpro on flood alleviation. If you live near Christ the King you may be eligible for a free driveway upgrade.

Local Green Party councillor Feljin Jose said the flooding was “very significant" ... But the drains are full. There’s nowhere for the water to go. There’s much, especially around Cabra, that has been tarmacked over and concreted over. It can’t take all that water. www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2026...

We used a wildlife camera to capture some of the local foxes in Cabra. Have you see any wildlife in your garden - please let us know in the comments. Particularly if you’ve seen a hedgehog as their numbers have declined badly in recent years.

People ask how to create a wildlife garden.

The answer is simple:

Make room.
Wait.
Pay attention.

Nature does the work.

I’ll be talking about wildlife gardening and Nature’s Acre at Cabra Biodiversity Festival tomorrow.
