‘Stop the Fare Hikes’ protest outside Dáil today as NTA says further increases likely
Commuter groups, opposition parties, and others are encouraging people to join a protest against public transport fare hikes this evening in Dublin outside Leinster House at 6pm. The planned protest comes after the Government was criticised for 15-35% increases in public transport fares from 2027, and the National Transport Authority yesterday confirmed further hikes are likely if inflation continues to rise.

If you were to add up all the high vis vests, accessories and trinkets handed out by the RSA since its establishment in 2006, you'd probably find that there are several such items for every single person in the country.

What you won't find is a positive correlation with the number of road deaths.
E-scooters already require lights and reflectors.

Dressing riders like construction workers won’t fix bad road design, dangerous junctions or high speeds.

How many hi-vis vests do we need before we admit the roads are the problem?

Cyclists were the primary force behind organized political pressure for better, paved roads before the arrival of cars and drivers.

Drivers now think they own the road and oppose safe infrastructure for all other road users.

What if tanks started using roads and were crushing cars and people?

Or even if you don't have a camera report anyway .
At least then the stats will reflect the very real problem women face out there..
