Fuck cars.
New study finds the social cost of driving a car 1 km—including pollution, crashes, infrastructure, and noise—is more than *triple* the private cost paid by the car owner.

I can’t stress this enough…spend the money on a good lock or you’ll spend the money buying a new bike.

Cordless angle grinders are $200 and can cut through most locks in less than a minute. Buy a lock that is tested to resist angle grinder attacks!!
Me: has the urge to go shopping for something, anything.

Thieves: mess up my bike lock trying to take my beloved car replacement.

Me: ah. Well now I get to go shopping I guess?

Anywho, buy the nice locks, y'all. Glad I get to keep my bike.

Are you biking to the State Fair this year?

Go check out our @bunchbike.com at the Eco Experience building!

Our pals at @perennialcycle.bsky.social have an Urban Arrow and Tern GSD in the building, too.

AND there's a very cool Civilized Cycles Semi Trike on display in the same building.

Biking to the Great Minnesota Get-Together can be cheaper, quicker and less stressful than driving — if you can find the right route.

I’m not sold on speed cameras over changing the built environment. Speed cameras produce a localized or “spot” slowdown where chicanes, speed bumps, curb bump-outs and bollards slow speed for an entire corridor.

Don’t even get me started in the Midtown Greenway detour on 28th.

In a city with mode shift goals, we can’t just throw peds & cyclists into wildly unsafe situations due to construction.

We need to actually plan for safety & comfort or we’ll lose folks (due to crashes, discomfort or both).
There are also giant road signs blocking a pedestrian crosswalk for storage.

@minneapolismn.gov needs to handle detours with more care & consideration for people outside cars.

This is not safe & so simple to fix.

Add signs, create a detour, don’t put loose sand in bikeways esp w/o signs!
