It actually is - but not in the way the OP thinks. Don't forget that on this day eighty years ago Japan and much of Germany & Austria was under American military occupation. As flawed and partial as it was, war crimes trials and purges of fascist influence from civil institutions did happen.
WW2 is an instructive analogy. Germany committed genocide but it was rare to hear Americans say Germany should not exist. Arguably the Japanese military carried out genocidal campaigns on the continent and it was common to hear American exterminationist talk about Japanese. What was the difference?
Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza, but my solution to that is *not* that the country of Israel should cease to exist.
