"This heaven gives me migraine."

Old enough to know better at the ends of the earth (New Zealand). I am large and contain multitudes, all of them intensely irritating. (Same-sex) married. Catholic. Conservative-ish. Cis-male. Jane Austen cultist.
I'd have to deduct a point for significantly over-estimating Luxon's girth and length, but otherwise a flawless performance.

Giving the significant anniversary, and sad recent events, it would be downright unpatriotic not to.

... on a much bigger scale. I get it - FRINGE was never a cheap show, and perpetually on the cancellation bubble. Still... that final season was good with flashes of greatness and it could, should have been an all-time classic.

As for FRINGE - I adore that show but what bugs me isn't that there were only five seasons. But that the quid pro quo for getting that finale was a reduction to 13 episodes and a brutally reduced budget. It shows in the often rushed narrative and patches that were obviously originally conceived...

IKR? Book spoilers, I guess, but there's a thirty year time jump between the end of Babylon's Ashes and the last three books. That alone - which would require either a massive re-casting or a massively expensive run on age make-up and or digital anti-botox - would motivate me to call time.

That's a good rule of thumb with Ryan Murphy content in general -- depending on where you draw the line when it comes to his... somewhat problematic fetish for (often extremely sexualized) violence. It really is more about the *very* specific grim-camp vibe than plot or characterisation

No - because none of it makes a lick of sense. NONE OF IT.
September 18, 2026 at 3:01 AM
Well, that was the case for too many. And too many more just... faded from sight in the chaos and, let's be honest, were abetted by a lot of people who just wanted to rebuild their lives as best they could and forget the last two decades had ever happened. Hell, I can empathize if not forgive.

The irony that the same politicians who ghost their government day jobs for months with zero consequences are almost inevitably the same ones who've never seen a measure that punishes subsistence workers and the poor for being sick that didn't give 'em a raging stiffy.

IKR? The whole AHS franchise stopped being a buzz magnet a long time ago, but I guess there's still enough people taking Ryan Murphy's brand of crazy pills for the show to be a going concern for FX.

In general, "We, since we didn't do the right thing flawlessly over here in the before times we shouldn't even try to do it over here and now" is a morally and politically delinquent argument.

And uncomfortable as it is for either side to own, to this day the constitutions and civic institutions of both Germany and Japan bear the fingerprints of American influence who unapologetically considered that one of the fruits of victory. Objective historical facts.
September 18, 2026 at 1:42 AM
On this day eighty years ago, Japan and much of Germany and Austria was under American military occupation. Flawed and incomplete as the process was, war crimes trials and ideological purges of civic institutions did happen. Bad history not the sick burn the OP thinks it is.

Bless your soul and don't flatter yourself. I'm not "Very Angry" but rolling my eyes at your very bad historical analogy that isn't the sick burn you so obviously think it is.
