Here's an updated group photo of my Custodes & Sisters army to date!

The first one, the sentinel at the center behind Trajann, was started in 2020, and the newest, the woman on our left, was finished just a few months ago in 2026.

It's so cool to really see my painting journey in this image!

Group photo of every single miniature I painted for my Custodes army to this date (July 2026). They each look slightly distinct, since they were painted at different points in my painting journey (first ones in 2021, newest in 2026), and I've actively allowed that to show in my painting style, quality and choices. The features they share, generally, are often a black armor with silver decorative details, blue fabrics, pauldrons and plumes, as well as green osl on bases shining up from below. I also usually used magenta for light effects or tiny accent tones and painted faces in different ways and skintones. The group features six custodes on foot, two of them being named characters, then there's three winged Venatari, one shield-captain on jetbike and two different dreadnoughts, one Galatus and one Telemon.

I decided to paint the right one as idle and inactive and the left hand claw as powered hup while slicing into the rock.

Last week I finished refining the first part of the 40k Unit entry!

This is about the best painting I can do at the minute. It's only a bit worrying how long it took me to get the jump-pack this far. There is SO much more to get to this level. Yikes!

I've adjusted the position of two veterans, by sculpting more rocks.

While doing that I also made the rock crack under the lowest placed Marine, who is mid jump-off.

Besides that I also refined Shaans backpack a lot.

Last week saw some the refinements of a few more areas, namely the helmets with role markings and the first jump-pack wings, but I also advanced many other areas of the black and white armor.

It is quite daunting to think how much there is to refine. 😅
