With all of the terribleness at my institution, I want to say how proud I am of my students, who are navigating it all with such courage, and dignity.

They are seeing what's happening, asking hard questions, and organizing to demand change. All of it while meeting the demands of their courses.

When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education.

We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.
Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/kQdKbY1

PSA: you know what scholars love? Talking about their books! You know what you can do? Invite them to your class to do so. It’s great! You absolutely do not have to use AI or tell students to use AI to understand their books. You can get the actual real life person to help with that! For free!

Talking about generational wealth, even at the risk of alienating wealthier friends and colleagues, is such an important act.

People without generational wealth need to see the structures that explain how and why their futures look so different from their peers.
