Since this summer, ICE has been arresting asylum applicants at airports.
Many came legally, then applied for asylum. They have been here for years just stuck in a massive line, working and paying taxes while they wait.
No prior admin would have arrested them. Their “overstay” is due to DHS delay.

had a chat with someone yesterday and told them, and not that I'm saying anything innovative here, but I really can't imagine why I'd want to look at something no one cared enough to actually make, or read something no one cared enough to actually write.
People who use AI instead of creating make me angry. People who think using AI *is* creating make me sad.

Knowing that someone has used ChatGPT to think means I will never ask them about anything. Their ethos is done. People don't talk enough about how using ChatGPT erodes trust and ethos. Professors and students using ChatGPT to outsource thinking are losing their credibility.
When folks casually mention they use ChatGPT for something I imagine part of their soul turning black and dying and I mourn for them and send a prayer to their ancestors on their behalf.

This is a really important point that I wish some people would be more precise about. “AI” as a vague concept in the news gives evil people the ability to wash their hands of actions they designed these systems to carry out. It would be trivial to fix this in alignment. They don’t want to.
