Back in Trump 1, my EP and I used to spitball every now and then on the first question I'd ask Trump. We settled on "how do tariffs work?"
Just once, just absolutely once, I would like someone to ask Trump on camera how he thinks international trade works. Like, maybe, do an experiment with monopoly money and toy cars. "Ok, Donald, let's pretend I'm Canada and you're the US."
Trump: “If we stopped Trading with every country that we have a Deficit with, which is most of them, we would make, at least, 1.5 Trillion Dollars a year. The word ‘Deficit’ is nothing more than a fancy word for LOSS.”

Spammy political SMS fundraising messages are making SMS texts unusable. On Android, there is no way to set it to accept texts from contacts only.

How much of this money is getting to the candidates and how much is going to consultants or is outright fraud?

While people around the U.S. are tearing down Flock cameras, one group of hackers went a step further: extracting the camera's software too.

Oh this is interesting! Climate scientist @leahstokes.bsky.social shows that candidates who talk about climate change *get a bump in preference from voters*. "Common knowledge" is that climate is a losing issue, but this survey shows the opposite is true: voters care.

Really evil shit that the Trump admin is not only scrapping our targets but pressuring the rest of the world to give up as well (see also recent IMO negotiations).
SCOOP: At least two multilateral development banks, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Asian Development Bank, are in discussions about scrapping climate finance targets, people familiar with talks said. These kinds of diesel prices turn into $5k - $10k winter heating costs in NY for people still on fuel oil (~20% of houses).
Diesel new highs, China crude making new record premiums vs Brent, backwardation accelerating, tanker rates exploding. All of this suggests the crude market is tightening rapidly because China has stopped relying on strategic draws. Much more impt than the US SPR if it sustains.

the reason my likely presidential candidate tier list has two people at the top - Ossoff and AOC - is that they are by far the most effective messengers of I Am Fucking Furious And There Must Be Consequences, which is the most deeply held conviction of the Dem base
