Me: [chanting] knobs, knobs-

Other car buyers: knobs, KNOBS

We expect the former chair to soon claim that a new chair has been elected. This will be false, and this late-night zoom call masquerading as a BK Dems exec committee meeting, like every prior step of the former chair’s attempt to cling to power, was an affront to the democratic values of our party
The former chair of the BK Dems is trying to call a meeting at 10pm tonight to pick a new chair, in defiance of a judge’s order and using rules that the court struck down. No one should attend this meeting.

I work with abortion providers in Colorado. One of them had a patient whose water broke at 4 1/2 months, was told by a Houston hospital they couldn't help her until she went into labor or went septic, so *she got on a plane & flew to Denver mid-miscarriage*.
There's no respectful disagreement here.
At the risk of doing social media wrong, lemme suggest folks engage with what I wrote, rather than the 280 character summary. There's plenty to disagree with in the actual piece I wrote, but it's of a different nature than some of the reactions I'm seeing to this thread.

I wrote a whole book about the complexity of the motives behind the overturn of Roe and how misogyny wasn’t the only factor but moments like this make clear IT SURE WAS A BIG ONE
Samuel Alito: We won't overturn Obergefell because it's engendered reliance interests.

Jan Crawford: Well, many people had organized their lives around Roe v. Wade.

Alito: No, they didn't. Women merely had an "abstract" interest in "ideas about the kind of society that they were going to live in."
The Alito Court: A rare interview with the influential Supreme Court justice
Justice Samuel Alito discussed his opinion in the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, the leaked draft and its aftermath, same-sex marriage rights and why he's not retiring yet.

Every fuckin time
So, this very sympathetic piece where the subject is “a lifelong Democrat who had voted for Trump for the first time in 2024”.

5 minutes of checking his facebook shows pro Trump posts as far back as 2019, and a post saying that he “stands with Trump” posted just a couple of days after Trumps coup.
A Haitian man legally immigrated to Ohio, then was given an ankle monitor bc Trump withdrew his status.

He threw himself in front of truck. The trucker, who voted for Trump, is haunted.

For those not following NJ politics, please know that the Lt Gov resigned a few days ago because a report came out saying he did serial harassment, and yesterday he went on TV to say "i put that report through multiple AIs and they told me it wasn't sexual harassment."

An important lesson from the Iraq War, relevant to Annie Jacobsen and other biosecurity fabulists, is that there is a very dangerous species of columnist who can only become vindicated if they create the precise international incident they’ve prophesied. Just as undesirable for nukes and bioweapons.

Yeah these are the most willfully propagandized, selfish, self-absorbed, dishonest people there are and I’m not sure why at this point we would take their so far momentary pangs of conscience from a direct exposure to trauma seriously.
It would be interesting to check back in with this guy in like a year or two to see what his thoughts are, given that he has his mom and her friend pouring poison in his ear about how pierre was a white-hating suicide bomber & bad waiter, & the other trucker is still complaining about immigrants

Hey, I’m just asking questions. Ignorant questions, bigoted questions, questions that have been repeatedly answered for many years. Sorry, but I’m not listening to answers right now; I’m far too busy asking questions. It’s called being intellectually curious.

Years ago I interviewed Houston Mayor Annise Parker who told me one of the main reasons the city was able to cut homelessness by so much is she forced all the governments and nonprofits into a room and made them use the same data system.

It’s good they’re continuing to do this! And we need more busy trick or treating areas closed to cars on halloween, like every neighborhood should have its busiest trick or treating blocks pedestrian only that afternoon/evening
NYC is opening 160 car-free (but treat-filled) streets and plazas to enjoy fun and safe fall festivities this spooky season.

Find one near you at nyc.gov/trickorstreets.

The reason Epstein’s urologist would no longer be seeing patients at Cornell is he was abusing boys. Paduch was sentenced to life in prison. But Cornell wanted to make sure Epstein saw one of their other physicians instead of leaving Cornell. In 2019!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need everyone to pls read these pages from a letter Weill Cornell Medicine (led by Robert Harrington) sent rapist Jeffrey Epstein asking him to continue as their patient in 2019—a decade after his conviction!! they sent Epstein best wishes for his health😳 this is absolutely sickening… #cornell
