Sheeran is big enough that he could have stood up to those venues and businesses that were making threats against him. He didn’t. He gave in. And if there is a story of our time, it is powerful, rich people and organisations giving in to bullies and the corrupt. Spineless.

Safe to say Piddington is now up there with Clacton in terms of Britain’s most fucking awful places. Regardless of any ‘legitimate concerns’ about large numbers of people arriving in their village, every single interview has demonstrated open, unchallenged racism. Journalists have failed.

There’s this weird kabuki theatre going on around the Lucy Letby case. On the one hand, there’s a review into what can be learned from the murders she was convicted of, while on the other, there are growing calls for a review of the safety of those very convictions. Its nuts.
