I was in 7th-grade Social Studies class 25 years ago, at a school about 30 minutes from a military base. My teacher was Mr. Satterfield, a mirthful human being who lost a leg in a farming accident, but to make us laugh, he would play his prosthetic leg like a guitar and sing Johnny Cash songs.
