The tower arch at Plungar, Leicestershire, features some small carvings. Clockwise, top left we have a dragon/lizard, a monster mouth eating a ballflower ("Appetite for Destruction" vibes), A two-legged beast with man's head & a fox? bishop being eaten by tiny dragons.

A nice discovery under flaking bark of a diseased tree, the tiny nymph of a Chernes cimicoides pseudoscorpion in its silk moulting chamber. The claws of the shed skin can be seen above the pale nymph. The bark was carefully replaced. #arachnids #pseudoscorpions

These are a remarkable achievement. Given how salty and strong marmite is they’ve managed to use it to make the blandest coated nuts possible. A real disappointment.

Rabies vaccination in cats fall below recommendations, even though cats are more likely to be exposed to rabid bats
There is a specific vaccine for cats, which is safer in terms of injection site sarcoma, called Purevax. If you have a cat, ask for this specific vaccine and get them vaccinated!

It’s important to get your cats vaccinated too! More than 250 cats are reported to have rabies every year in the U.S. While this may seem like a small amount when compared to the total cat population, which numbers in the tens of millions, it's not insignificant.

Letheringsett to the west of Holt is another of Norfolk’s round towered churches. It has a few treasures inside including a spectacular reredos and a carved head sprouting arms and legs (had mushrooms been taken?) and a head that reminds me of a little girl in a cartoon strip I can’t quite remember.

Glandford church was mostly reconstructed in the early years of the 20thC. It was done in honour of the local bigwig’s mother. I’ve seen a couple of sniffy comments about it but I love it. 1/2

When I was very young Melly’s (sp?) Coaches would run day trips from Bury St Edmunds to London Zoo. We went a couple of times and on one occasion we met a lady transfixed by the giraffes. She told my mum she thought they were mythical beasts and couldn’t believe her eyes.

Wiveton church is close enough to the church at Cley that each can be seen from the other. When it existed the harbour at Cley could probably have been seen from the churchyard. There are a couple of of interesting brasses in the floor. I particularly like the shrouded corpse.

I love pew end carvings in churches. I try not to post too many to avoid being a bore but I’d be interested in peoples opinions on what these might represent. They’re both from Cley-Next-the-Sea. Please retweet because I’d like to get as many ideas as possible.

Shelton Church from July last year. The interior light was quite uplifting . It has a very interesting tomb showing a pious family group. They don’t look like they were much fun.
I don’t think it on the toad to anywhere but worth a detour for a look.
