I’m always irritated by the terms global north and global south.

They only make sense to academics. For everyone else they sound like euphemisms for rich and poor.

Just say rich and poor. Poor countries know they’re poor, you’re not going to offend anyone.

A dozen federal public servants are earning over $1 million a year at the Future Fund Management Agency. We’re not talking about Secretaries who run big government departments but employees. How can the government justify this? What kind of APS work warrants $1 or $1.5 mil?

We deserve better from @news.abc.net.au 🤷‍♂️

It's inconceivable to me how someone who lost in a free & fair election can incite an angry mob to attack his own government, (the very definition of treason) & be allowed to run for any office ever again.

Tomorrow his Treasurer will front the #NationalPressClub, will he answer why he's given #Adani a $½B royalty holiday when QLDers are struggling to pay the bills.

Watching the Yanks desperately trying to get the vote out for the mid-terms and advising folks of their rights as voters - makes me SO grateful for the AEC.

Tweaks I'd make - four year terms and fixed election date. Stop the endless media fixation and political opportunism.
