Spent the afternoon cleaning up the basement in an attempt to find this set of drawings. I found it, finally, in a box in a forgotten corner. And even better, the drawings match the revision of the hardware I have to debug. Also: what a lovely bit of art on the cover.

This is a project I really need to get back to and finish up... it's been in Beta for like two years now.

More adults have made youth sports their entire personality in the last 10 years than any child in history. Why don't you go break up a game of hide and seek while you're at it, you fuckin' losers.
Another Iowa Dem releases an ad in response to anti-trans ads against her.

"We need to protect kids, and we need common sense rules to keep sports fair for boys and for girls. Parents know what's best for our kids. Washington needs to stay out of it."

Well, now it's been 25 years, 3 years since I wrote this ode to remembrance and forgetfulness. And what have we done?

All else aside there is nothing I want or need genAI to do for me. I like reading. I like doing research. I like playing around in spreadsheets. I like interviewing people. I like writing. I like doing these things for myself because I take pleasure in the doing and they make me a better thinker.

No you wouldn't.
I said they reason, I didn't say they're sentient. And if I came to the conclusion they're sentient and experiencing pain due to what we're doing, yeah I'd stop

"So in summary: using AI for coding led to depression, apathy, existential dread, and worse software. Not good. Add on top of that the negative environmental, community, and economic impacts of AI, and it became extremely apparent to me that something's gotta change."

I'm done using AI
Why I'm stopping using AI for coding (and anything else) after using it earnestly for a year and coming to understand the harms it causes on personal, societal, and environmental levels.

This may be my favorite Who album, it's light and carefree and goofy and it's just a lot of fun to listen to. And it's got a lotta beans on the cover.

That’s the goal of the Peter Thiel/Nazi/Big Tech centralized control of everything. All authoritative sources of truth can be updated as needed like Winston Smith revising history to conform to this week’s Party doctrine. And the excuse is just “they updated it, we’re not responsible.”

This was a very fun show, and everything worked flawlessly from beginning to end! Had a lot of fun talking with visitors about the Alto.
Here's a video I took of our setup form #vcfwest - 8000 Dandelion, two 6085 Daybreaks, 1100 Dolphin, Dicentra sitting on top, and finally the Alto.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by - @dectape.bsky.social and I had a great show!
